Updating Permissions for your Zakeke App

Why You Need to Update Your Shopify Permissions

We want to inform you about an important update affecting your Zakeke integration with Shopify. Shopify has introduced new APIs, including a new "product model" that changes how apps like Zakeke publish customizable products and manage inventory. Due to these changes, Shopify requires you to re-authorize the permissions for Zakeke to continue functioning correctly in your store.

Zakeke has already made the necessary adjustments to comply with Shopify's requirements, well ahead of the February 1 deadline. Now, all that’s left is for you to accept the updated permissions to keep Zakeke running smoothly.

What Happens if You Don’t Update Permissions?

If you don’t accept the updated permissions, key Zakeke functionalities in your Shopify store will be impacted:

  1. Custom Product Thumbnails and Pricing in Cart
Zakeke will no longer be able to display the thumbnail of customized products or update prices based on customizations in the Shopify cart. Any Pricing Rules you’ve set to create markups won’t be passed to the cart, which could affect your product pricing and margins.

  2. POD (Print on Demand) Integration
You will lose access to Zakeke’s integrated POD services, such as Printful, CustomCat, and Printeers, preventing you from using these services through Zakeke.

How to Accept the Updated Permissions

To ensure Zakeke continues to function as expected, please follow this simple step:

This process will take you directly to your Zakeke back-office, where you can confirm the updated permissions. We want to reassure you that Zakeke is not requesting access to any new areas or components of your store . This update is simply needed for Zakeke to continue working as it already does, in accordance with Shopify's new API requirements.

Once the permissions are re-confirmed, everything will function as usual, and you won’t experience any disruptions.

Why These Changes?

Shopify’s recent updates introduced a new "product model" for managing customizable products and inventory, requiring apps like Zakeke to update how they interact with Shopify stores. You can find more information about these changes here: Shopify's New Product Model .
